About the role
We have a large active community of volunteers who support our services, and this role is pivotal in supporting the volunteers with the activities they undertake. You will work with a group of volunteers who support activities within either our Living Well services or our Patient & Family Support Team, to ensure volunteers feel equipped and supported to use their skills and experience to facilitate support groups, provide 1:1 support to our patients and their families, or deliver counselling support to patients and their families. You will have supervisory responsibilities for the volunteers within the service, ensuring they are up to date with their training, and are supported to undertake their volunteering activities safely and effectively.
Working collaboratively and liaising with healthcare professionals, families, and external contacts you will be key in providing a professional and compassionate service provision. You will manage and coordinate an efficient support provision for both your immediate team and wider Group teams.
Essential criteria
- Create professional and accurate correspondence and information including letters, emails, meeting agenda’s, during discussions, etc.
- Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and internal communications.
- Handle highly sensitive data and process this in compliance with the data protection regulations.
- Update social media channels with agreed content where appropriate and in line with privacy and branding guidance and rules.
- Ensure policy compliance in your role and procedural activities and making decisions in line with organisational policies and procedures, escalating matters where necessary.
- Providing relevant progress, case and workload updates.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records relevant to your work, giving high attention to detail. Maintaining and coordinating and take ownership of relevant databases, trackers, and working systems.
- Work with your team to provide and joined up and efficient service, reviewing processes and practices along the way to ensure the smooth and policy compliant working ethos.
