We’re looking for a Vertical Borer and/or Manual Lathe Turner to join our experienced and friendly team. If you take pride in producing accurate, high-quality components and enjoy hands-on, practical work, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate manual turning lathes and vertical borers to machine parts to exact specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD files (SolidWorks experience is a plus)
- Set up tools and fixtures for both batch work and one-off jobs
- Carry out quality checks to ensure components meet required tolerances and standards
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any maintenance needs
- Assemble components when necessary using hand tools and precision measuring equipment
- Keep your work area clean, organised, and safe
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience with vertical borers and/or manual lathes in a conventional machining environment
- Ability to work from raw material through to finished component
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing top-quality work
- Sound maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations
- A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
- Previous experience in a similar manual machining role is essential
