Relief Van Driver / Transport Support - Davin Foods
Location: Barking, Essex
Salary: £34,095.36
Core Hours: 48 Hours per week.
Start Time: Various hours. Flexibility will be needed.
Due to our continued growth at Davin Foods, we are looking for an experienced van relief driver / Transport Support to provide assistance to the Davin’s Team. Your sole purpose will be to support to the company’s distribution operations, ensuring that deliveries are completed accurately and on time, while maintaining effective communication to consistently meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Operate a 3.5 tonne long wheelbase van for deliveries across London.
- Provide relief coverage for regular drivers during absences, vacations, or peak demand periods
- Learn and maintain all current delivery routes.
- Support the transport manager with daily transport operations.
- Use basic computer systems for logging deliveries and updating schedules.
- Ensure vehicle safety and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Support transport coordination by communicating effectively with dispatch and team members.
- Any adhoc duties as given by the Fleet manager/DSM
- Assist with general transport support with telematics companies, small parts stock required
Role Requirements:
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience.
- Full UK Driving Licence and no more than six points on licence.
- Strong knowledge of central London
- Excellent communication, critical thinking skills and customer focus.
- Physically fit and able to handle heavy loads of fresh produce.
- Flexibility to work early mornings and weekends as required.
