The Role
We are currently hiring for a tutor based in Warlingham or surrounding areas (e.g., Whyteleafe, Purley or Caterham, etc.) to support a Year 6 student with their English and maths .
- Pay: £20 per hour
- Location: CR6 (student’s home)
- Commitment: 1 hour per week
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive difference through one-to-one tuition.
Essential Requirements
Please read carefully — applicants must meet the following essential criteria:
- Live within 30 minutes of CR6 (e.g., Warlingham, Whyteleafe, Purley or Caterham, etc.)
- Experience working with children or young people (teaching assistants, teachers, childcare practitioners, mentors or youth workers etc.)
- Available for 1 hour each week on a weekday evening or on a Saturday at 11am for the sessions.
- Has SEN experience, as this child has dyslexia
- Access to a printer — while we provide most materials, tutors are occasionally expected to print resources
- Educated to degree level (desirable but not essential)
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective 1:1 tutoring sessions in the student’s home
- Build strong rapport and trust with the student
- Adapt your teaching approach to meet individual learning needs
- Track progress and tailor future sessions accordingly
- Inspire confidence and a love of learning in your student
