Across three sites we employ over 290 people in the design, manufacture and installation of timber and steel fencing and gates.
Key Responsibilities
- To support the Transport Manager and team in the day to ray running of the department. Occasionally planning and arranging loads to customers, as well as collections, but mainly giving administrative support to the department and assisting the other team members as necessary.
- To constantly gain valuable experience in a variety of activities within the team to benefit the operation of the team and the effectiveness of the company. This will include learning the invoicing and associated tasks of that role as support.
- Success can be measured by clearing the requested work tasks daily and building resilience so the team continuing to perform during periods of peak workload. Also, by continuing to train in the departmental roles to provide further support during holidays and absence.
Targets
- Clear the deliveries each week.
- Plan for loads to meet the promise dates we have committed to.
- Complete all assigned administrative tasks.
Key Tasks - will vary day to day depending on the demands of and resources available within the Transport team, but will include:
- Planning loads, working closely with the Transport Manager and taking on planning responsibilities when the Manager and / or Transport Planner are not in the office.
- Assist with administration relating to loads, drivers and vehicles, to meet legal and FORS req’ts.
Plus cover for the following:
- Invoicing of loads
- Advising loads to customers
- Reviewing new orders
- Arranging carrier deliveries
- Assisting with other Transport administration duties, including other internal reporting requirements, and tasks requested by your manager, to meet the company’s legal and voluntary scheme requirements.
- Working with the relevant managers to maintain and develop quality procedures and systems and ensuring that Company and Statutory Health and Safety, COSHH and Environmental requirements are met.
- Ensuring that all IT / Business System operational and procedural guidelines are followed so as to ensure data integrity.
Any other ad hoc tasks reasonably requested by your direct line managers or the directors, from time-to-time.
All relevant training will be provided in order for the team member to carry out this role.
Own transport is essential due to remote location
