Hooper Haulage Ltd - Transport Planner
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual with experience in transport planning to join our dynamic team. In this role we are looking for a reliable & enthusiastic person to work alongside the planning team to help ensure the smooth and efficient running of our daily operations. The ideal candidate will need to possess strong organisational skills, a solid understanding of transport and logistics industry, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Rolls within this position
- Planning and scheduling vehicle routes and loads, focusing on General Haulage/Groupage vehicles Along with back end shift ensuring Warehouse/Loading operations run smoothly
- Taking bookings from existing and new customers.
- Monitoring and adjusting plans in response to changes, delays and last-minute
- Handling incoming calls and resolving queries.
- Providing clear communication and support to drivers throughout the day.
- Liaising with drivers/warehouse, customers, and third parties.
- Reporting Directly to The Transport & Compliance Manager
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Previous experience in a transport planning role
- Confident handling calls, resolving issues, and managing driver relationships
- A calm and solution-focused approach in a fast-paced environment
- Competent IT skills and familiarity with transport management systems (TMS)
- A pro-active attitude with attention to details and strong organisational skills.
Average Shift/Hours of Work
Monday to Friday (10:00-19:00hrs)
