Full-time Transport and Dispatch Coordinator for Moat Farm site near Tonbridge, Kent.

Job Purpose

To coordinate and control all our transport and dispatch activities from our Moat Farm, packhouse site, providing an effective, reliable dispatch operation, ensuring timely, efficient delivery and service to our customers while meeting all legal requirements. Responsible for organising the safe and efficient handling, administration and dispatch of our products and supply to our customers.

Job Description

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead and inspire our distribution team members to drive continuous improvements.
  • Responsible for training, developing and retaining of staff within the dispatch team.
  • Responsible for the organising, planning, coordinating and controlling all outgoing transportation of our products to our customers.
  • Monitoring and amending the shift rotas to ensure effective and efficient shift cover
  • Assist and support warehouse and admin teams as required
  • Cover dispatch admin function during absence and holidays
  • Liaise with planning to anticipate peaks and throughs in volume
  • Stock control of unallocated packed product
  • Out of hours contact schedule
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor the orders, assembly and dispatch of all our produce. Make use of the warehouse space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently. Ensuring quality performance, customer compliance and budget targets are met.
  • Liaise closely with the planning and production teams ensuring that information flows both ways, is efficient and effective. Produce, check and collate all in house data as required relating to dispatch and stock.
  • Ensure the warehouse and dispatch areas always operate within the Health, Safety and Environmental constraints required to ensure employee, contractor and visitor welfare.
  • Review existing and develop new standard operating procedures, to provide consistency in ways of working, enhance accountability and improve training and onboarding of new employees.
  • Actively participate as a member of the operations team, providing input to daily planning meeting and ongoing business improvements.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities, as requested by senior management.
