Our clients range from home owners buying fencing for their gardens to Industry and High Security establishments, protecting facilities and equipment. We currently seek a hard working professional to join and support our timber assembly team.
The Role: Part-time
Two 11 Hour Shifts - Friday & Monday 6am to 5.45pm and Friday 8am to 4.15pm (Other shifts may be available)
Involved in the production of our timber components, you will be using machinery, (subject to training and experience) jigs and pneumatic hand tools, to manufacture high quality garden products. Previous experience within a manufacturing or any related production environment would be ideal. Experience is preferred and training will be given but the primary quality we are looking for is someone who can work in a fast-paced environment and has a positive attitude towards their work. This is a manual position that involves some reasonable lifting and repetitive work.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all manufacturing operations and tasks safely, efficiently and to the expected time and quality standards.
- Work as part of the team to meet daily production demands.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team to reduce errors and waste to reduce cost.
- Take responsibility for your own and your colleagues Health and Safety, if you see a problem report it straight away.
- Operational reporting is to the Area Supervisor and Production Manager.
Individual objectives:
- Complete daily pre use checks on all tools and machinery before using them and report any defects to your Area Supervisor or Production Manager.
- Achieve the daily manufacturing targets while working safely within the framework of the companies Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the company's quality standards are maintained at all times.
- Ensure that the pack quantities and labelling on finished parts or products are correct before they leave the working area.
Key Tasks
- Ensure that daily pre use checks have been carried out before using machinery.
- Follow the training that you have received when operating machinery and never operate machinery that you have not been signed off as competent to use, unless you have a competent person with you training you in how to use it.
- Follow the training that you have received regarding the manufacture of parts or products that you are expected to produce.
- Practice good housekeeping at all times.
- Carry out production tasks in all areas, subject to appropriate training being provided.
- Work closely with your line managers and the Quality Manager to ensure full compliance with the Company ISO9001 procedures and in raising overall quality standards. Ensure 100% quality to your customer. Do not let demands compromise quality.
- Work safely, to protect yourself and others, ensuring that Company and Statutory Health and Safety, COSHH and Environmental requirements are met, including specific responsibilities relating to the team’s activities.
- Pass on your skills to other operators by training them in the safe and correct way to produce components or finished products.
- Participate in appropriate training and toolbox talks.
- Any other ad hoc tasks reasonably requested by your Area Supervisor or direct line managers.
Experience in a mill/production or relevant environment is beneficial
Due to our remote location, your own transport and driving licence is necessary.
