Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Timber Frame Erector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and carpentry, with the ability to work effectively with various materials and tools. This role involves the assembly and erection of timber frames for residential and commercial buildings, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to safety standards.
Duties
- Fabricate timber frames according to specifications and design plans.
- Assemble and erect timber structures, ensuring they are plumb and level.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently for cutting, shaping, and joining materials.
- Perform heavy lifting as required during the assembly process.
- Conduct masonry work as needed for foundation support.
- Carry out painting tasks to finish timber frames as per project requirements.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians, to ensure seamless integration of systems within the timber structures.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques for timber structures.
- Familiarity with electrical systems is an advantage but not essential.
- Ability to use various power tools and hand tools proficiently.
- Physical fitness to handle heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or moving.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring high-quality workmanship in all tasks performed.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork on-site.
