Position: Therapeutic Practitioner
Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk
Hours: 08:00 - 16:00, term time only (37.5 per week)
Type: PAYE / Part-Time / 1 Year Contract
Pay: £29,250 per annum

Overview:
Do you have a therapeutic approach and a passion for supporting children with SEND? We are looking for a committed Therapeutic Practitioner to support our children aged 4–11. Sessions will be delivered in our new base in Stowmarket opening 1st September 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, child-centred sessions using the GROW curriculum under the direction of the Therapeutic Lead.
- Support children during breakfast and lunch times, encouraging independence and social interaction.
- Implement EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) outcomes within sessions for each individual child under the direction of the Therapeutic Lead.
- Provide personal care for children as required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
- Set up and tidy up the therapeutic space before and after each session, ensuring a safe, welcoming and calming environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with primary-aged children with SEND (SEMH, ASD, ADHD, SPD)
- Experience delivering a tailored curriculum in a therapeutic or alternative setting
- Strong behaviour management skills and understanding of trauma-informed practice
- Familiarity with Makaton, PECS, or Talk Pads is an advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident working independently and as part of a multi-agency team
- Organised, empathetic, resilient and flexible
Certifications Required:
- Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service)
- Safeguarding Children Certificate

Sendsory is a specialist Alternative Provision offering a Therapeutic Curriculum. We work with children aged 4–11 with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SPD, SLCN, trauma and those disengaged from or excluded from mainstream education. Our approach helps children to regulate emotions, develop communication and social skills and achieve success through creative, therapeutic and child-centred learning.
