Role Overview
As a Therapeutic Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our residents’ emotional, psychological, and behavioural development. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, your approach will be person-centred, trauma-informed, and deeply rooted in empathy.
Key Responsibilities
- Build trusting relationships with residents to promote emotional wellbeing and independence
- Assist with daily living activities while recognising and encouraging personal choice
- Support and implement care plans developed alongside healthcare professionals
- Deliver therapeutic interactions and structured activities tailored to individual needs
- Observe and document behavioural patterns and emotional changes
- Contribute to a safe, calm, and respectful home environment
- Maintain detailed records and communicate effectively with the wider care team
- Attend regular training sessions and supervision to deepen therapeutic practice
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a care or support role, ideally within mental health or specialist care
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
- Excellent communication skills and emotional resilience
- A commitment to promoting dignity, respect, and empowerment
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
