Based within a global manufacturing company, this skilled technical maintenance role will offer the opportunity to work on production machinery within a fast moving, highly automated environment.
This position is purely “hands-on” and you will work on a wide range of bespoke equipment, including mechanical, electro-pneumatics and electrical control systems.
Reporting to the department manager, you will attend, assess and repair mechanical, pneumatic or electrical breakdowns and find suitable fixes to reduce downtime.
Duties will include:
- Working on days to support a small team of production operatives and shift supervisor. Provide technical support to ensure production targets are delivered and quality standards are maintained.
- Lead the preventative maintenance program, making sure all scheduled maintenance is completed
- To liaise with the other departments and effectively communicate any current or potential issues that may impact equipment downtime or quality concerns.
- Ensure all aspects of health & safety are implemented in accordance with company guidelines.
- Use your developed knowledge, fault finding and engineering skills to reduce downtime and repair production equipment in a busy fast-moving environment.
- The ability to work under pressure.
Essential criteria:
- Have a recognised 3rd level qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Have transferable skills from a previous multi-skilled maintenance role.
- Experience of fault diagnosis on mechanical / pneumatic systems and repair.
- Experience in electrical fault diagnosis and repair
- Good bench fitting skills.
- Spare parts control
- Be self-motivated with a positive mindset and demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment.
- Possess a competency with general computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable criteria:
- Technical experience in a high-speed production environment.
- Machining skills (milling, turning, welding etc.)
- Experience of equipment installation
- PLC experience, or willingness to learn.
