Duties & Responsibilities:
To provide the care for young person through:
- As a Team Leader at Tees Valley Care Limited, you will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager to develop and deliver a high-quality residential care service for the young person
You will form part of the management team and will be responsible for providing supervision to residential staff. You will be expected to lead and manage shifts effectively, using sound judgment to make decisions in real-time.
Your responsibilities will include preparing, recording, monitoring, and reviewing key documentation in line with regulatory requirements. You will take the lead in delivering consistent, child-centred care and support to the young people within the home.
You will be expected to promote a positive, aspirational environment and contribute to the ongoing development of the service, in line with the Children’s Homes Statement of Purpose, to ensure the provision of safe, nurturing, and high-quality care for all children and young people supported by Tees Valley Care Limited.
Skills & Experience:
- Must be 21 or over
- Must hold a driving licence
- Must have at least 1-year experience in the role
- Level 3/4 Childcare qualification - NVQ or equivalent(REQUIRED)
- Candidates must be suitable to work with children & young people within a care setting (pre-employment checks)
- Ability to relate to and communicate with young people forming and maintaining appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people
- Awareness of young people’s needs
- Awareness of safeguarding issues and ability to safeguard the welfare of young people
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
- Ability to work in partnership and liaise with other professionals
- Basic household skills
- Ability to recognise and acknowledge training needs and respond appropriately
- Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours
- Understanding Equal Opportunities and Anti - Discriminatory Practice issues
