Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist in meal preparation by chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Support the cooking team with various tasks including cooking, plating, and serving food to ensure timely delivery of meals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is prepared and stored correctly to prevent contamination.
- Participate in stock management by helping to receive deliveries and store food items properly.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods.
- Assist in catering events as required, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standard.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is highly desirable.
- Experience in meal preparation or cooking within a restaurant or catering setting would be advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field.
