About Us
Ascot Royals Swimming Club is a new and rapidly growing club committed to building a fun, competitive, and development-focused swimming programme for young athletes. Due to increased demand and expansion, we are looking to grow our coaching team with passionate and experienced individuals who want to make a lasting impact.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior Squad Coach to join our team and work with swimmers aged 7–11, helping to lay the foundation for their long-term development in the sport.
Position Details
Position: Junior Squad Coach
Regular Hours:
- Tuesday: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
- Thursday: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
- Sunday: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
(Total: 5.5 hours per week)
Additional coaching shifts may also be available based on club growth and coach availability.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate structured training sessions aligned with long-term athlete development for swimmers aged 7–11.
- Teach and refine key technical skills, including stroke technique, starts, turns, and finishes.
- Improve swimmers’ endurance, speed, and overall performance through progressive, engaging practices.
- Monitor progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to swimmers and parents where appropriate.
- Promote a safe training environment by enforcing Swim England guidelines and club policies.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach and wider coaching team to support individual swimmer development and team success.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere during training and competitions.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Swim England Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming (or equivalent) – Required
- Proven experience coaching swimmers aged 7–11 within a club or squad setting.
- Strong understanding of competitive swimming techniques and long-term development planning.
- Confident communicator with excellent leadership and motivational skills.
- Ability to plan, organise, and manage engaging sessions that meet individual and squad needs.
- Up-to-date safeguarding and first aid training (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
