Working with person centred support plans and risk assessments our Supported Living Workers provide direct personal care using safer people handling equipment where assessed. The role can include supporting service users to manage their challenging behaviour, whilst always maintaining and promoting their independence. We adopt a multi-agency approach to support positive behaviour management, in the safest, ethical, and most appropriate way possible for those who may experience issues managing complex behaviour. If you would like to make a difference to help individuals live more independent and fulfilling lives and have some experience of working with adults or children with a learning disability, we would like to hear from you.

NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent is advantageous. Employees are required to follow policies and procedures and be willing to undertake all essential training to meet Care Quality Commission standards.

Hours of Work: We have either 1 Hour; 15 Hours or 25 Hours posts available.

Pay Rates: The hourly rate is £13.26 to £13.47 per hour . SCP 5 -6, plus two increments for weekend working and a payment for working night at time and a third, when applicable. Sleep Ins are paid at:£41.78 per night.

Shift Patterns: Shifts patterns can include early shifts from 7.30am or late shifts up to 11pm, followed by a sleep in and/or an early shift the following day. Shifts can include sleep in duties, waking nights, weekends and bank holidays and shift patterns can change to meet the needs of the Service Users. There may be occasions to work additional hours to support the service whilst the team are on training, holidays, and sickness.

Examples of shift patterns are 7.30am - 3.00pm, 7.30am -10am and 2.30p,m -10pm. Shift patterns / rota's can include a sleep in shift, examples of times are 10pm to 8 am, or waking night of 10pm to 8 am.

Travel: Our Service Users live across several tenancies in the borough and rely on the flexibility and reliability of our teams to travel across the borough of St Helens to provide the care they need. A drivers licence is advantageous but is not essential.
