Dovehaven Care Homes are Recruiting for a Support Worker to join our team at Cedar Garden, Tag Lane, Preston. Working NIGHTS- 8pm-8am with everyother weekend availability required, 33hr or 22hr Contracs Avalible.

Cedar Garden is a 30 bed dementia specialist, male only facility. Our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible, our homes promote independence, dignity and respect through positive risk taking and empowerment.

Please note – There is a genuine occupational requirement as to why Male only applicants are needed, as this is a Male only facility.

About the role:

As a Support Worker, you will assist other staff in the running of the Home and maintain high standards of care towards Residents, relatives, visitors & other members of staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance, personal care, activities and companionship to residents
  • Be alert to residents’ needs, health and wellbeing
  • Respect the residents’ dignity and privacy
  • Work with residents and their families to deliver tailored care to each individual
  • Assist with mealtimes and safe moving
  • Maintain accurate records for each resident

Skills and Experience:

  • Passionate about delivering first-class care
  • Patient, kind and understanding
  • Reliable and respectful
  • Have strong interpersonal skills
  • Be a team player
  • Have the ability to use initiative
  • Previous working experience within a complex care EMI/Dementia Setting
  • Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of this specialist Unit as some of the service users will express acute distressed and or challenging behaviour

Qualifications:

  • An NVQ level 2 in health & social care is essential along with a dedicated passion for providing exceptional care.
