About the Role
We are looking for compassionate and committed Support Workers to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives by providing personal care, health support, and practical assistance to help individuals live as independently as possible. You will work closely with residents, families, and colleagues to deliver person-centred care in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including assistance with daily living tasks (getting up, dressing, personal hygiene, eating and drinking).
- Support individuals with basic health and nursing care in line with care plans and training received.
- Act as a Key Worker for designated service users, participating in assessments, reviews, and care planning.
- Maintain accurate written and electronic records of care provided.
- Promote independence, dignity, and social engagement for residents.
- Administer and support medication in line with policies and procedures (following training).
- Support residents with mobility and operate care equipment safely (following training).
- Respond to emergencies and safeguarding concerns, escalating appropriately.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive living environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, health professionals, and families to ensure holistic care.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Essential Skills & Qualities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient, respectful, and supportive approach.
- Ability to work as part of a team, showing empathy, reliability, and trustworthiness.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion.
- Willingness to undertake training and continuous professional development.
Desirable:
- Care Certificate or equivalent qualification (or willingness to complete within 2 years).
- First Aid training.
- Previous experience working in a care or support role, particularly with individuals living with dementia.
- Knowledge of current care practices and health & safety requirements.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Valid Passport or Photo ID to prove Right to Work in the UK.
- National Insurance Number.
