About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and experienced female Support Worker to provide one-to-one support to a young woman in her early 20s. She has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Disorganised Attachment Disorder, Dyspraxia, and Anxiety, and requires someone who can offer patient, trauma-informed support tailored to her unique needs.
Due to her preference and the nature of the support required, this position is open to female applicants only (Exemption under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consistent, person-centred support that promotes independence, emotional well-being, and routine, while using trauma-informed approaches to build trust, assist with daily tasks through verbal prompts, support community access and appointments, ensure a calm and safe environment, and offer transport as needed.
Essential Requirements:
- Female (genuine occupational requirement)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car
- Experience working with individuals with complex emotional needs and/or trauma backgrounds
- Understanding of autism, anxiety, and neurodiversity
- Ability to work in a calm, non-judgmental, and supportive way
- Reliable, patient, and emotionally resilient
