Your role and responsibilities

As a Support and Information Officer, you will be the welcoming face of our Family Hubs, providing a warm and professional first point of contact for families, children, and professionals. You’ll manage reception duties, support the Community Health Team with administrative and finance tasks, and help maintain a safe and welcoming environment across our sites.

You’ll play a key role in delivering the Healthy Child Programme and Children’s Centre Statutory Framework, supporting children from pregnancy to age 5 and their families. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting and signposting families and professionals to appropriate services.
  • Managing reception and supporting building operations (e.g. key holding, health and safety checks).
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of group activities.
  • Handling administrative tasks including data entry, room bookings, and financial processing.
  • Promoting services through marketing, social media, and community engagement.
  • Supporting safeguarding practices and escalating concerns appropriately.

You will need

  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration, Customer Service, or equivalent experience.
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills (including Microsoft Office).
  • Experience in administrative and office-based roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A passion for supporting children and families, and a commitment to safeguarding.

You’ll be part of Suffolk’s Community Health Team (0–19), working collaboratively with colleagues across Family Hubs in High Suffolk. Our team is committed to early intervention, reducing social isolation, and improving outcomes for children and families.
