Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated student Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to supporting individuals and families in navigating challenges related to mental health, social issues, and community resources. This role requires a proactive approach to advocacy and support, ensuring that clients receive the necessary services to improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist in carrying out parental assessments and develop tailored intervention plans.
- Provide individual and group sessions to assist families in coping with various life challenges.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, educators, and community organisations, to coordinate care for clients.
- Monitor family progress and adjust care plans as necessary to ensure effective support.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress reports.
- Advocate for clients’ rights and access to resources within the community.
- Stay informed about relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social work.
- Assist in compiling daily logs and weekly reports.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interaction and documentation.
- Computer literacy - MS Word; Excel etc
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Knowledge of local community resources and services available for clients is advantageous.
- Empathy, patience, and resilience are essential traits for success in this role.
