Our teams are the foundation of our success, and we are now looking to recruit a committed and reliable Stock Warehouse Operative to join our growing operations team.
Role Overview
The Stock Warehouse Operative will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the warehouse and logistics function within ASEL. The role involves managing stock levels, ensuring timely receipt and dispatch of goods, supporting engineers with equipment requirements, and maintaining accurate records. You will be instrumental in making sure that the warehouse operates efficiently, safely and in line with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Control & Management
Receive, check, and store all incoming deliveries in line with company procedures.
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch to engineers, projects, or clients.
Monitor and record stock movements, ensuring accurate inventory levels at all times.
Carry out regular stock checks and audits to ensure accuracy and accountability.
Warehouse Operations
Ensure the warehouse is organised, tidy and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Support engineers with the collection and return of equipment and materials.
Manage the secure storage of high-value items, ensuring proper handling at all times.
Assist in the loading/unloading of vehicles when required.
Systems & Administration
Update warehouse management systems (WMS) and company databases to maintain accurate records.
Generate reports for management regarding stock levels, shortages, or discrepancies.
Support in the preparation of project kits and ensure engineers receive the correct equipment.
Compliance & Safety
Follow all health, safety and environmental policies and ensure compliance within the warehouse.
Report any damaged, faulty or missing stock immediately to management.
Operate manual handling equipment, pallet trucks or forklifts (if certified) safely and responsibly.
Key Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a warehouse, stock control or logistics role (preferred but not essential).
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and stock management systems.
A team player with a proactive and problem-solving attitude.
Knowledge of health & safety practices within a warehouse environment.
Forklift licence (desirable, but training can be provided).
