About Us
At The Children’s Society, we believe every child should feel safe, loved, and full of hope. Yet millions of children across the UK face poverty, homelessness, mental health struggles, and exploitation. We’re committed to reversing the decade-long decline in children’s well-being and building a society where every child can thrive—not just survive.
We’re proud of our ambitious goal: by 2030, we will have turned the tide on declining well-being and set a path for lasting change. To achieve this, we need passionate, driven people to join our movement. If you share our vision and values, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
We’re looking for a Stewardship and Volunteer Officer to join our Community Mobilisation team. This exciting role will be central to building and nurturing relationships with our community supporters, volunteers, and regional organisations. - Build and maintain relationships with supporters in key areas to help raise funds.
- Create tailored experiences that make supporters feel valued and connected.
- Encourage volunteers and supporters to get involved in new campaigns and activities.
- Support key volunteer roles, like Diocesan Ambassadors, to help them thrive.
- Keep track of supporter activity using our database and spot ways they can do more
- Work closely with other teams to make sure our efforts have the biggest impact.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in community fundraising and volunteer engagement.
- Passionate about building meaningful relationships with supporters.
- Skilled in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- A confident communicator across digital, written, and verbal channels.
- Proficient in using MS Office and CRM systems.
- Empathetic, organised, and motivated to make a difference.
If you don’t meet every requirement but share our values and are excited about the role, we encourage you to apply. We’re committed to supporting your development and helping you grow with us.
Diversity and Inclusion
We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our anonymised recruitment process ensures fair assessment based on skills and talent. We offer staff networks, inclusivity toolkits, training, and more to support our inclusive culture.
