Welsh language skills


You will need to demonstrate starter level Welsh language speaking skills during the pre-employment stage. Full support for this will be provided by us. We want you to do well throughout the recruitment process, and you can familiarise yourself with the recruitment and vetting process by visiting our website North Wales Police Website before you start your application. You’ll find detailed information about our eligibility requirements and information about the various stages you go through as part of the selection process.

Once you have completed your application from and the recruitment team have eligibility checked it, you will be asked to submit a statement of support using no more than 500 words.

Your response should demonstrate how your experience, qualifications, skills and abilities align with the minimum criteria as outlined below:

  • Problem solving skills with the ability to identify cause and effect and develop a course of action designed to target root causes as well as manage impacts
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to set out logical arguments clearly and adapt language, form and message to meet the needs of different people/ audiences
  • Good team working skills demonstrating awareness of individual differences and providing support as required

Assessment centres will be held for eligible candidates on September 7th & 14th 2025 to fill positions in the January 2026 intake.
