We are seeking a creative Social Media Producer to join our Social Media team, which forms a crucial part of our Brand division here at Penguin. You will work with the team to manage and create content for our consumer-facing social media accounts (mostly Instagram & TikTok but occasionally Facebook & Pinterest). You’ll work primarily on the Penguin brand but in some cases our sub brands; The Happy Foodie and Dead Good Books.
Your mission: to engage diverse audiences, increase brand loyalty, grow authentic connections and create exciting and engaging content across our consumer-facing social media accounts.
You'll be working on amplifying our books and authors, as well as our important brand initiatives like Lit in Colour and Libraries for Primaries.
The role
We are looking for a Social Media Producer to join our Brand team on a permanent basis in London.
Reporting to the Social Media Manager, this is an opportunity to be at the forefront of creating engaging and fun content for the biggest brand in books!
Key responsibilities:
- Initiate and create a range of engaging social content in line with our brand positioning and social media strategy, building brand resonance with our desired audiences.
- Create and/or commission a wide range of content including video, UGC and community building initiatives. This includes being on camera yourself and delivering a range of content to our audiences with an authentic and confident approach.
- Support the Social Media Community Manager in building Penguin Random House’s online community by monitoring and responding to messages, engaging with our audiences in line with our social media guidelines and brand tone of voice, and commissioning content creators.
- Work with the Social Media Manager to provide regular reports on channel performance and unearth insights to inform future content and brand activity.
- Work with brand marketers to integrate marketing activities and bring our brand initiatives to life on social media in an impactful way.
- Build relationships and partner with key stakeholders including; book marketers, publicists, retailers, authors, influencers and partners to ensure a wide and engaging range of content.
- Engage with and be an expert in the social media landscape more broadly by identifying relevant trends and keeping up on top of platform changes and updates.
What you’ll bring
Essential criteria:
- Significant experience of running social media accounts for a consumer facing brand.
- Ability to spark creative concepts and ideas, create static creative assets and create and edit videos for social media.
- Creative confidence with a natural ability to appear on camera for social content.
- Ability to work in a flexible and sometimes unpredictable environment.
- Excellent written and communication skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management ability.
- Deep understanding of social platforms and current social trends.
- Ability to report and interpret social data in a meaningful way.
Preferred criteria:
- Experience in working with Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign and Photoshop is desirable
- Experience of working with influencers and personalities in the public eye is desirable.
- Experience in copywriting, specifically for social media, is also desirable.

Salary
c.£37,500 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus scheme and benefits.
Hybrid working
While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will work from the Embassy Gardens office in London 2 days per week (Tuesday & Thursday) with the remaining 3 days from home/remote.
