Working Foreman

About the Role
Emmerson Critchley Ltd is expanding, and we are seeking experienced, hands-on Working Foremen to join our growing team. You will play a vital role in leading projects from start to finish — ensuring work is delivered on time, to the highest standards, and in line with health & safety requirements.
This role combines leadership and practical involvement: you’ll manage teams and subcontractors, coordinate trades, and keep multiple projects running smoothly from groundwork through to final finishes.
Experience across new builds and heritage properties is highly valued, but if you’ve not worked with historic buildings before, training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily site operations from groundwork to completion
- Oversee and coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors
- Ensure work meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards
- Communicate clearly with team members, clients, and stakeholders
- Anticipate issues, propose practical solutions, and keep projects on track
- Lead by example — punctual, professional, and proactive
About You
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the construction industry
- Broad multi-trade knowledge and skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent organisational skills
- Confident communicator at all levels
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures and compliance
- Practical problem-solver with a “can-do” attitude
