Shop Supervisor

Insight Gloucestershire
Gloucestershire, England
Part time
June 6, 2025

Job Summary
To provide excellent customer service within Insight Gloucestershire’s Stroud shop and take responsibility for supervising the shop operations and volunteers when the shop manager is not on duty. To support and assist with the management and optimisation of sales and profit. To promote and benefit Insight Gloucestershire and its services, raising awareness and enhancing reputation.

This is a part-time role, 3 to 4 days per week.

Background

Insight Gloucestershire exists to reduce the impact of sight loss, supporting blind and partially sighted people to lead independent lives and to secure equal access to services.

As part of our ambition to diversify our income sources, the Board of Insight Gloucestershire are looking to open several charity retail outlets over the next 5 years, with the aim of increasing brand recognition, increasing our presence in the community, and raising funding for the charity. Having secured premises in Stroud, we are aiming to open our first shop this summer.

This is an exciting period of growth for us, and we are committed to the highest standards of customer and client support in our shops. In addition to our first charity shop, our new Stroud premises will also house a consultation room and resource centre for clients living with sight loss.

We are seeking a part-time shop supervisor to work with the shop manager to help manage our new Stroud shop, running an outlet which showcases the charity and helps us to secure the long-term support of the communities we operate within. The shop supervisor will deputise for the shop manager when the manager is not on duty, supervising the running of the shop and the volunteer team on site.
