Role purpose

The Global SEO Strategist is responsible for developing and implementing SEO strategies that drive organic growth across markets. This role ensures consistency in SEO best practices, optimizes website content for search engines, and enhances overall visibility. Collaborating closely with local and global teams, the strategist aligns SEO efforts with business objectives and regional requirements.

Role responsibilities include, but are not limited to –

NGL Integration:

  • Oversee the seamless & smooth migration to NGL (Next Gen LORA) for SEO-related priorities.

  • Ensure all short & long form copy are SEO optimized based on the key words we want to defend

  • Release SEO guidelines to upskill markets on ways to ensure SEO Performance is maintained through technical & content-related improvements.

Post Integration:

  • Global SEO Strategy Development: Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive, data-driven SEO strategy that aligns with global business objectives and drives organic traffic across multiple regions and languages.

  • Cross-Regional Collaboration: Work closely with local teams & digital managers to ensure SEO strategies are tailored to regional markets while maintaining global consistency.

  • SEO Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and analyse SEO performance, using data and insights to optimise search engine rankings, user experience, and content discoverability on a global scale. Create a clear action plan for countries in how they can increase their SEO score.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams (including marketing, product, tech, and creative) to advocate for SEO best practices and ensure alignment with broader business and digital goals.

  • SEO Innovation & Trends: Stay at the forefront of SEO trends, tools, and algorithm updates, proactively adapting strategies to maintain competitive advantage and drive long-term organic growth.

  • Global Content & Technical SEO Oversight: Provide guidance on content optimisation and technical SEO, ensuring all digital assets are optimised for search engines, performance, and accessibility across global markets.

  • Training & Development: Mentor and upskill internal teams on SEO best practices, fostering a culture of SEO excellence across the organisation.

This is a full-time position, operating with a hybrid working pattern of three days per week based at Aesop’s head office in London Bridge and two days per week remote.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in a digital marketing-related field.

  • Considerable experience with a proven track record in delivering tangible results relating to SEO.
