Which is why we are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Senior Technician within Operational Security. Working in a Control Room environment, in this role you will support our Team Leader & operational staff in managing the day-to-day activities of Operational Security across critical sites in both Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
In the role of Senior Technician - Operational Security you will be pivotal in assisting the team to meet challenging targets both internally and externally with respect to all matters of Operational Security.
You will be required to ensure that both the operation and maintenance of security assets deliver full compliance with all regulatory and company requirements. Working across a wide and varied group of internal and external stakeholders you will be managing security asset health, following fault reporting procedures and managing resolution through to completion.
This is a key role in defining and delivering the protective security strategy, ensuring that as a team we deliver in a way that manages all current and emerging security risks.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Your key accountabilities in helping us on our journey will be:
- Proactively identify issues and administer a wide range of security systems used for security monitoring and access control.
- Manage security asset health, ensure correct fault reporting procedures are in place and resolved with the SLA.
- Identify and drive tangible improvement for systems and process change across the team.
- Identify & investigate issues affecting security systems, looking at root cause and provide recommendation through to resolution.
- Engage with stakeholders to maintain and improve existing security process.
- Provide technical training and support for the ARC, Access Control & Site Teams
- To promote security compliance through data analysis, reporting providing insight and recommendations.
You will need strong IT skills in this role alongside the ability and passion to develop a broad understanding of security and associated systems. Any prior exposure to security operations and systems would be highly beneficial.
In this role you will need to bring all of your communication skills to support working across a diverse team, responding to queries, cascading solutions and communicating information to variety of levels and groups.

- Security vetting will be required
- May be required to participate in standby rota
- EUSR Water Hygiene Blue Card required
- Full valid UK driving license (preferred)
