The Role
Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people in our care.
To provide high quality childcare practice, in line with our philosophy of care and underpinned by a child-centred therapeutic approach.
Make a positive difference to a child’s life.
Be a role model – a commitment to high quality care and professionalism expected.
Build positive relationships with the children in our care.
To support the homes management team to ensure that a warm, nurturing, accepting therapeutic environment is evidenced, delivered and developed in accordance with the organisations’ core values, regulations and legislation.
Contribute to the child’s plans, their implementation and review
Providing support to others in the absence of the Manager
The Requirements
· Shift work (two on four off) including weekends, evenings & sleep in duties on a rota system
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Ability to dynamically assess challenging situations
· Experience (preferred) working with children/young people who may display challenging behaviour
· To be able to provide consistency in your work and deal with confrontation
· Good communication skills at all levels
· Full driving licence is required due to the location of the home
· Have effective, accurate and timely record keeping skills
· The willingness to access training when required
· The ability to identify areas of development in the home and the capacity to resolve matters
