Job Description

Post: Senior Relief Worker

Service: West Dunbartonshire Intensive Assertive Outreach service

Based: West Dunbartonshire

Salary: £13.55 per hour

Do you have a passion for helping vulnerable people enjoy as much fulfilment as they can and feel included in their community?

If compassion, care and inclusiveness are an important part of who you are, our opportunities to work away from the routine in a demanding, challenging but emotionally rewarding role could be for you.

Our Turning Point Scotland Services in West Dunbartonshire Intensive Assertive Outreach service are looking for people like you to help provide individualised support to adults with a wide range of needs, either on an individual 1:1 basis or alongside others and as part of a team.

West Dunbartonshire Intensive Assertive Outreach Team provides Assertive Outreach and Intensive Case Management to support people currently experiencing problems with their alcohol and/or other drug use.

The assertive outreach approach offers a person-centred and flexible model of service.

The service adopts a “no wrong door” approach, with multiple points of entry, including self-referral and providing an out of hours response with some overlap to facilitate follow up engagement and referrals to mainstream services and offer short periods of support to those who’s needs are not being met.

This model is designed to take services throughout West Dunbartonshire to reach people who have traditionally struggled to engage, building a trusting relationship during this period.

The support we provide is always person centred, we do this by involving people who know the person well, this includes family and friends, other health and Social Work professionals, Advocacy services and our own staff members.

We believe having the right values of respect, compassion, inclusion and integrity is all you need to join our team! We would offer you full support in completing your application.

As a Senior Relief Worker, you will work with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.

Please note that IT skills are required for all our vacancies.

Where applicable, successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of start date.

We value lived experience, please click here to read more about our views.
