Internal Opportunity – Senior Progress Tutor

Reports to: Progress Tutor Manager and Head of Student Wellbeing and Progress
Salary Range: £30,960 - £34,033
Contract Type: Full-time – Term Time Only + 2 weeks
Responsible for: Mentoring and Supervision of Progress Tutors

We are excited to appoint to our newly created Senior Progress Tutor role – a key position focused on delivering dedicated pastoral support and helping our students thrive academically, personally, and socially.

About the Role

We’re building a strong, student-centred pastoral support team and as our Senior Progress Tutor, you’ll take a lead role in coordinating targeted support for students on our Access to Level 3 programmes. You'll shape tutorial delivery, build relationships that matter, and help students overcome barriers to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and lead the Access to Level 3 Tutorial Programme

  • Provide 1:1 pastoral and academic mentoring

  • Develop and monitor tailored student support plans

  • Work closely with teachers, parents/carers, and external services

  • Lead on student voice, enrichment, and progression planning

  • Monitor impact and report on student attendance, retention, and progress

Who We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking someone experienced in supporting 16–19-year-olds in educational or pastoral settings, who understands the challenges faced by disadvantaged learners.

You’ll be a confident communicator, a strong organiser, and a compassionate advocate for student wellbeing and success.

Essential:

  • Experience in youth work, education, or counselling (Level 5 or equivalent experience)

  • Excellent interpersonal and data monitoring skills

  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
