Senior Night care Assistant to work 2 nights a week 22.00pm - 8.00am. The applicant must hold NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care or working towards this for the Senior position or NVQ 2 for the night care position.

JOB SUMMARY:

- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

- Willingness to participate in Vocational Training
- NVQ/H&SC Level 3 OR MUST HOLD NVQ2 in Care and interest in doing level 3
- Sensitive to the needs of others and to the sick and infirm
- Satisfactory DBS Checks.
Other requirements
Job holder must be physically and mentally fit to perform their role as required by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Main Responsibilities
1. To carry out a regular check on service users at intervals determined by the homes manager and with due regard for the service users’ privacy and dignity.
2. To carry out regular checks on the building at the start of the shift and at regular intervals, with special reference to fire prevention and security.
3. To answer emergency bells or calls from service users, to assess the situation, to deal with the service user seeking help and to summon the person in charge wherever necessary.
4. To assist service users who need help or assurance.
5. To be aware of own personal hygiene practice by using the protective clothing that is available.
6. In the time available between attending to the service users undertake domestic duties primarily in the areas of laundry, tiding dining room, lounges and ground floor communal toilets. Empty all waste bins, wash down lounge chairs and tables, and lay the tables in the dining room. Leave all down stairs areas clean and tidy.
7. To maintain accurate notes and records in the service users care plans and to hand over information to day care staff that is relevant to the ongoing care of individual service users.
8. Understand and implement the Homes Health and Safety Policy, Emergency and Fire procedures
9. Report immediately to the Home Manager or the person in charge of the shift, any illness of an infectious nature or accident by service users, colleagues, self or another.
10. Attend mandatory training days/ courses, on or off site as and when required.
11. To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required
