We're looking for a Senior Motor Underwriter to join the team at Admiral Money!
Role Overview
We’re looking for a proactive and supportive individual to help drive the daily operations of our underwriting team. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive, high-performing work environment through training, coaching, quality assurance, and continuous feedback. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily workflow by assigning cases, managing team administration, maintaining housekeeping standards, and monitoring the team inbox.
- Support team members in strengthening their underwriting expertise and decision-making capabilities.
- Identify training needs and coordinate relevant sessions to enhance team performance.
- Deliver coaching and constructive feedback, including monthly quality assurance reviews.
- Manage daily referrals, ensuring timely responses to queries, escalations, and exception agreements.
- Assist the Team Manager with key tasks such as return-to-work interviews, one-to-one meetings, and holiday request reviews.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in AFSL underwriting.
- Strong knowledge of motor insurance products.
- A commitment to fostering a positive team culture and promoting staff engagement.
- Deep understanding of underwriting rules and processes, with the confidence to challenge and improve them.
- Familiarity with Pan Credit and Halo operational dashboards.
- Ability to work independently with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Confident decision-maker with a constructive and positive approach.
- Quality-focused with a willingness to give and receive feedback effectively.
- Successful completion of probation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
