The Children’s Literacy Charity is a registered charity working alongside primary school pupils who struggle to read and write. Our vision is to close the literacy gap for all disadvantaged children, enabling them to achieve their true potential.
We are looking for a Senior Literacy Tutor for our Literacy Lab in our partner school in Ernesford Grange, Coventry . The role is part-time, two days a week and term-time only.
You will be tutoring primary aged pupils on a one-to-one or one-to three basis on their phonics and literacy skills using our own multisensory programme.
The ideal applicant will be:
- GCSE A*-C or equivalent in English and Maths
- Experience of teaching/working with primary aged children (QTS or teaching experience is desirable for this role)
- Able to demonstrate empathy, understanding and patience towards children who are experiencing learning difficulties
- A good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Ability to reliably get to the school in the hours specified
This role is for an academic year from September 2025 until July 2026 term time only, with the potential for extension. The pro-rated salary is £9,480 per annum.
