On Behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Senior Hydraulic Modeller for a 6 Month you contract you can be based in Cardiff or Bristol
Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience
Purpose of the role:
We are looking for flood hydraulic modellers and technical specialists to play a key role in delivering flood risk management business cases and design projects. We are looking for people passionate about rivers, flooding, and the environment.
We specialise in delivering innovative solutions on both a local and catchment scale, founded on nature-based systems and novel, low-carbon technology.
What you’ll do:
- We're looking for a senior hydraulic modeller with curiosity, personal drive, and technical know-how. You will be as inspired as we are by the problems we are solving and excited to be part of the team delivering the solutions.
- Experience in the water and environment sector is preferred.

The skills you’ll need:
- Masters or Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. civils engineering, geography)
- Working towards professional accreditation
- Experience using hydraulic modelling software (Flood Modeller, ESTRY, and TUFLOW) as well as using GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS
- Experience in training and supporting junior hydraulic modellers
- Experience writing technical hydraulic modelling reports
- A desire to learn, work in a team, and produce high-quality work you are proud of.
