At Ground Control, we’re searching for a talented and driven Senior Estimator to join our successful and growing Landscaping team. This is a pivotal role, responsible for securing new business through high-quality, competitive tenders that help shape the future of our division.

What you’ll do:
Preparing accurate estimates by reviewing drawings, specifications, and client requirements
Liaising with suppliers, sub-contractors, designers and clients to gather the info needed to build comprehensive bids
Identifying opportunities for value engineering and cost-effective alternatives
Creating detailed take-offs and pricing proposals using tools like On-Screen Take-Off and Microsoft Office
Leading post-bid handovers by summarising tender approach, pricing assumptions, risks, and key deliverables
Supporting and mentoring Estimating Assistants and Administrators in their development
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse and interpret tender documentation to produce precise and timely estimates
Act as the primary contact point for all pricing-related communications during the bid process
Review designs for efficiency and alternative materials, aligning with contractor guidelines
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy across all company, client, and supplier information
Show adaptability and attention to detail, taking ownership of estimates under varying workloads
Apply strong analytical thinking to identify opportunities, risks, and strategy
Use estimating software including On-Screen Take-Off, Microsoft Excel, and other pricing tools effectively
What we’re looking for:
Proven estimating experience in landscape construction, groundworks, or drainage (SuDS)
Solid understanding of both hard and soft landscaping practices
Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills
Excellent attention to detail with a hands-on, solutions-focused mindset
Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and estimating software
Desirable Experience:
Familiarity with industry-standard contract types
Experience using Bluebeam and Valesco software
