Overview
We are seeking an Senior Electronics Engineer to work with our client, onsite (4 days minimum onsite) at Barnstaple. The successful candidate should ideally have experience working in the marine defence sector.
We are looking for an energetic and driven engineer with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with military, aerospace or oil & gas experience.

Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical and electronic engineering efforts for various electro-mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to agreed cost, time, and quality standards.
- Participate in and support reviews and approvals of electrical and electronic designs in accordance with business and industry standards.
- Contribute to company standards, produce calculations, CAD models, manufacturing drawings, schematics, and technical reports.
- Provide ongoing support for the clients products through manufacturing, assembly, installation, and service life.
- Provide technical support to a small multi-disciplinary team of Engineers on specific projects
- Seek and share good practice and knowledge locally and continuously improve own practices
- Provide support to the learning and development of other Engineers
- Support the preparation and submission of bids and proposals, including interfacing with customers and suppliers and generating engineering estimates
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline. A lower qualification would be acceptable for example HNC/HND should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu
Essential skills
- Problem solving across a wide range of technologies / products
- Communication, influencing, negotiating
- Adaptation / ability to work to specific company process
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired skills
- Knowledge of eCAD design tools for schematic capture
- Ability to use simulation tools like SPICE
- Good understanding of design for EMC
Experience
- Post graduate relevant work experience
- Defence, Aerospace or Oil and Gas work experience would suit this role.
- Able to work across the full Engineering Development Lifecycle
