Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
This role is to deliver a modern Ultra Maritime UK Configuration Management system ensuring the integrity, transparency, and consistency of development and services. By providing scalable, automated, and integrated CM processes, they will enable collaboration, reduce risks, and drive continuous improvement, ensuring the organisation delivers high-quality, innovative solutions aligned to project and organisational goals.
Technical Leadership:
Provide technical support to the Line Manager to build and maintain a high-performing CM team, fostering a collaborative and pragmatic approach to configuration management.
Support the development of team members, ensuring alignment with the mission to provide systematic and pragmatic CM of Configurable Items (CIs).
Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team and across the organisation.
CM Processes & Execution:
Develop, implement and maintain CM processes that are scalable, resilient, and continuously improving, laying the foundation for automation and innovation to manage the full lifecycle of CIs, ensuring consistency, integrity, and alignment with organisational goals.
Collaborate with projects to implement appropriate levels of rigor in CM activities to meet desired customer outcomes for quality, reliability, security, and supportability.
Drive a systematic approach to CM, ensuring alignment with organisational and project objectives.
Change Control & Version Management:
Oversee robust change control processes, ensuring transparency, traceability, and visibility of changes throughout the lifecycle.
Manage version control systems to enable real-time tracking and reporting of CIs across all teams and stakeholders.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Build cross-functional collaboration between engineering, programmes, quality, and operations teams to ensure seamless CM processes.
Ensure stakeholders have access to transparent, real-time configuration data to facilitate faster, data-driven decision-making while reducing risks.
Promote effective communication of CM processes and progress across the organisation, fostering trust and alignment.
Tools & Automation:

Compliance, Governance & Reporting:
Ensure CM processes align with organisational policies, industry standards, and project requirements.
Track and report CM performance, identifying opportunities for process improvement and ensuring alignment with business goals.
Monitor CM activities to ensure complete lifecycle integrity, providing visibility and risk mitigation across all projects.
Qualifications:
Degree level or equivalent in a Configuration Management related discipline with CMII or CM2-P qualified preferred.
Proven experience in configuration management, with a focus on lifecycle management, automation, and collaboration; including Def Stan 05-57, ISO10007 or EN9100.
Strong understanding of CM processes, tools, and best practices for ensuring integrity and transparency of CIs across projects.
Expertise in change management, version control, and automated CM tools such as Git, Jenkins, Jira, or similar platforms.
Exceptional communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to align CM processes with business objectives.
Demonstrated ability to foster cross-functional collaboration and innovation within CM frameworks.
A strategic mindset with a pragmatic approach to implementing scalable and resilient processes.
