The role will be to support the inpatient Haematology service and participate in outpatient clinics to gain experience in the management of the common tumour groups. The level of clinical independence in the management of outpatients will depend on clinical experience to date.
There is also opportunity for clinical experience within the stem cell transplant unit.
The primary duties of the post include management responsibilities for patients within the Haematology ward (ward 4) and the transplant unit (ward 5). This will include supporting the junior clinical team and undertaking ward rounds with the Haematology registrars and consultants.
