Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supervising care staff, developing care plans, and ensuring that our residents receive the highest standard of care in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support junior care staff in their daily duties, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans for residents, ensuring their individual needs and preferences are met.
- Provide direct personal care to residents, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress and any changes in their health status.
- Assist with training and mentoring new staff members to uphold our standards of care.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss resident care and share best practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a senior care role or similar position within a care home setting is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
- Proficient IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and communication records.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents and their families compassionately.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting residents when necessary.
- A genuine passion for senior care and enhancing the lives of elderly individuals is crucial.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required by the needs of the residents and the facility.
