RESPONSIBLE TO: Nurse in Charge
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Full-time permanent post, but will require the undertaking of rotational duties including weekends (alternative weekends). Hours can be either 6 hr shifts or 12 shifts.
2. Will assist the qualified nursing staff in the care, supervision and rehabilitation of residents.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
1. Acting as a Key worker for named residents.
2. Lead the allocated floor with regards to care staff ensuring standards are always met.
3. Reception of residents – assisting with resident admission duties to include care of clothing and property.
4. Providing the care and support as detailed in each individual resident’s plan of care within the confines of your training.
5. Care of bed accessories and appliances, cot sides and ambi-lifts and reporting any faults to Nurse in charge.
6. Assisting residents with washing, bathing, changing clothes, hair and nail care, oral hygiene etc. as their care plan details.
7. Preparing residents for meals and assisting residents with their meals or fluids.
8. Ensuring clean and tidy environment throughout the Home for all residents.
9. Encouraging residents to maintain and develop increasing independence.
10. Making accurate. Detailed entries in the relevant care record for each resident. Reporting any concerns to the Nurse in Charge.
11. Use the resident’s individual plan to engage with each resident. Assist the Engagement Lead with following each residents plan.
12. Other general duties to help with the smooth running of the Home as specified by the Nurse in charge.
13. Reporting any changes and/or incidents to person in charge.
14. Have a good understanding of the S.O.V.A. reporting process.
14. Ensuring all personal mandatory training is up to date.
15. Attend all Supervision sessions as required.
16. Support fellow colleagues to ensure high standards are always met.
17. Assist in the staff induction and general sharing of good practice.

Pay: From £14.00 per hour
