Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, implementing care plans, and supervising junior staff members. Your leadership skills will be essential in creating a supportive environment for both residents and staff.
Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support residents in daily activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and mobility assistance.
- Implement and monitor individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their health status.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Ensure the care home environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all residents.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in senior care.
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care or within a care home environment is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership abilities with previous supervising experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Proficiency in IT systems for maintaining records and managing care plans.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting residents when necessary.
