Overview
We are seeking a reliable and efficient Courier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the timely delivery of packages and documents, ensuring that all items are handled with care and delivered to the correct locations. This role requires excellent communication skills, a valid driving licence, and the ability to manage heavy lifting as needed.
Duties
- Safely operate a van or other delivery vehicle to transport goods to various locations 15 to 20 deliveries on average.
- Ensure timely delivery of packages and documents while adhering to scheduled routes.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring they are secured during transport and delivered in good condition.
- Assist in loading and unloading items at warehouses or delivery points, which may involve heavy lifting.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including addresses, times, and any issues encountered during transit.
Skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
- Proven driving experience, preferably as a Delivery Driver or in Commercial Driving roles.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for loading and unloading deliveries.
- Experience as a Van Driver or in a Warehouse environment is advantageous.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries without compromising safety.
- A valid driving licence with a clean driving record is essential.
