Job Title: Security Officer
Location: Edinburgh, EH5 2XS
Pay Rate: £13.09 per hour
Hours: 42 hours per week (4 on, 4 off – days and nights)
Key Requirements:
- Nationality: Must be a UK national
- Clearance: Must be able to obtain SC (Security Check) clearance
- Experience: Previous security experience preferred
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, reliability, and professionalism
Role Responsibilities:
- Gatehouse duties including access control and visitor management
- Internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security
- Incident reporting and escalation as required
- Maintaining a visible and proactive security presence

Job Description
Responsibilities
You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:
- Welcoming and assisting staff, visitors, and contractors.
- Conducting regular safety and security patrols.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures.
- Supporting emergency protocols, including evacuations and searches.
- Keeping vigilant, reporting incidents, and preventing disruption.
- Accurately maintaining records of all activity and handovers.

Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:
- A valid SIA licence.
- Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends.
- The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history.
- British nationality and UK residency for the past 5 years (due to site requirements).
- Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken.
