We are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant with the dedication and empathy to support pupils with additional needs in a dynamic secondary school setting in the north of Bradford. You will work closely with pupils who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), providing tailored support to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a nurturing learning environment and help shape the future of young learners on a long term supply basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with EHCPs across a range of subjects
- Assist in the implementation of individual learning plans, adapting resources and strategies to meet specific needs
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support
- Promote independence and confidence in pupils through positive reinforcement and encouragement
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly those with EHCPs
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
- Two education or school-based references.
