Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tailor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for garment alteration, ensuring that each piece meets our high standards of quality and craftsmanship. Stitchin Time is a high-end tailoring shop based in the heart of Bournemouth, renowned for our attention to detail and expertise across a wide range of garments and fabrics. From everyday alterations to bespoke adjustments on wedding dresses, suits, skirts, shirts, dresses, curtains, and bags – we pride ourselves on offering exceptional craftsmanship to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Measure clients accurately to determine the correct fit for garments.
- Perform alterations on various types of clothing, including suits, dresses, wedding dresses and casual wear.
- Repair damaged clothing by sewing, patching, or replacing parts as needed.
- Maintain an organised workspace and ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their needs and preferences.
- Confidence working with all types of clothing and fabrics, including delicate and luxury materials
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tailor or in a similar role
- Proficient in using sewing machines, hand-sewing techniques, and other tailoring tools.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work meticulously on intricate designs.
- A creative mindset with a good eye for colour, fabric, and style is advantageous.
- Strong experience in tailoring and garment alterations.
