Are you looking to develop your catering career? Do you thrive in a friendly, supportive environment where your skills can grow and shine?

We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook to join our friendly school community. This is a role with room to grow and comes with a chance to make a real difference in the lives of our students through healthy, tasty food.

Join our Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ school, nestled in beautiful grounds in a central town location. Fromefield Manor School is an inspiring place to work, with a strong sense of team spirit and a shared commitment to excellence.

We’re looking for a positive team player with a can-do attitude and a commitment to high standards of hygiene and food safety. Collaboration and adaptability will be key. Being part of a small team that will grow over time means that, with training and guidance, you'll have the opportunity to develop the catering provision as the school expands.

If you’re ready to bring your culinary flair to a place where you’ll be appreciated and encouraged to grow, we’d love to hear from you!

In this role, you will be responsible for cooking within the school as well as menu planning, shopping and adhering to set budgets to deliver healthy, varied and nutritious meals for young people and staff. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that the kitchen and serving areas are kept to a high standard of hygiene, including food and equipment storage.

You will ideally have a Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering and a valid food hygiene certificate, although training can be provided if needed.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 7.30am until 3.30pm, 39 weeks per year.

Our benefits include:

  • Exclusive access to reward and discount scheme
  • Comprehensive induction
  • Blue Light Card
  • Commitment to your ongoing training and career progression
  • Pension scheme
  • Paid for enhanced DBS
  • Wellbeing support

As the school's Cook you will be required to:

  • Plan, prepare, and cook fresh well-balanced meals for pupils and staff, considering their specific dietary requirements and preferences
  • Collaborate with special education staff to develop interesting and varied menus that accommodate individual dietary restrictions and sensory needs
  • Ensure that all meals are prepared and served in accordance with food safety regulations and best practices
  • Maintain stock levels
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with health & safety policies
  • Foster a positive dining experience for pupils by creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere during mealtimes

Above all, we provide a supportive and collaborative working environment where you can flourish in your career and feel incredibly rewarded by helping those who need it most.

If you want to progress your career, Aspris Children’s Services will help you get there.

Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service and at least 2 references which cover the last 3 years; for all our services we will request references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.
