We are a Global company selling and supporting cutting edge technology systems into the Material Handling sector to manage and monitor vehicle and driver behavior for safety and efficiency purposes.
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team, specializing in forklift telematics solutions. This role is pivotal in driving sales of our advanced telematics systems, which enhance forklift fleet management by improving safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in warehouse and industrial environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B B sales, a passion for technology, and knowledge of warehouse operations or material handling equipment.
This position is office based, in Somerset UK with some local travel required to customer sites as required.
This role requries a passion for providing exceptional customer service & support, and to grow the company sales across the UK region. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills both with customers and within the growing local and global team. This role suits a person who is structured, a good organiser and has the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Someone with an interest in emerging technologies, and experience with CRM HubSpot or similar would be of advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and Generate Leads: Proactively identify and pursue sales opportunities through cold calls, emails, social media outreach, and industry networking events to build a robust pipeline of potential clients in warehousing, manufacturing, and distribution sectors.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their operational needs and demonstrating how telematics solutions can optimize forklift fleet performance, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
- Product Demonstrations: Conduct compelling product demos and presentations to showcase the benefits of telematics systems, such as real-time tracking, operator behavior monitoring, and maintenance alerts, tailored to client-specific requirements.
- Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with the sales team to develop effective strategies to meet or exceed sales targets, leveraging CRM tools to track progress and maintain accurate records of client interactions.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings and customer needs to position our telematics solutions as the preferred choice, providing feedback to product development teams to enhance offerings.
- Contract Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate terms and close deals with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with company objectives.
- Post-Sale Support: Work with implementation teams to ensure smooth deployment of telematics systems and provide ongoing support to clients to ensure satisfaction and foster repeat business.
- Skills and Qualifications - Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in telematics, material handling equipment, or warehouse technology solutions. Knowledge of forklifts or fleet management systems is a plus.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand and communicate the technical benefits of telematics systems, including real-time data analytics, GPS/UWB tracking, and integration with warehouse management systems.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with clients, deliver presentations, and negotiate contracts effectively.
- Sales Acumen: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with experience in high-volume outbound prospecting (30-50 cold calls daily) and CRM software (e.g., HubSpot).
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with warehouse operations, supply chain logistics, or forklift fleet management is highly desirable.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license required;
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working Conditions - Travel: Ability to travel up to 50-75% of the time within the assigned territory, with some overnight stays required.
- Environment: Office-based role with frequent client visits to warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities, which may involve exposure to varying environmental conditions.
- Schedule: Full-time position with potential flexible hours to meet client needs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Be comfortable communicating both in person and by phone, regularly using online platforms for meetings and conducting presentations
- Be an excellent communicator and represent the company with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
- Have attention to detail in maintaining accurate records of all client interactions.
- Utilise Microsoft Office, Google suite, and other applications to create reports, presentations, and documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with team members Globally as required to enhance the overall customer experience and streamline processes.
- Excellent active listening skills - are necessary ensure clients needs are met
- Analyse customer feedback to identify areas for improvement in service delivery.
Requirements
- English language
- Previous experience in customer facing sales support, face to face customer service, fleet management systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse clients.
- Familiarity with CRM software i.e. HubSpot or similar
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and or Google products is essential.
- Strong analytical skills to assess client needs and provide tailored solutions
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
