Hours: 36.66 per week, Mon Friday 7.45 am 3.50 pm
Location: Moorhey Street Depot, Moorhey Street, Oldham, OL4 1JF

Role Overview:

The post holder would work as an individual or as part of a team to carry out highway construction and maintenance tasks, this will involve.

  • The operation/driving of highways vehicles
  • Driving/Operation of light/heavy specialist plant for the purpose of highways works.
  • The post holder would also be required to carry out manual groundworks and the use of small plant.
  • Flagging, kerbing/edging, block paving and concrete works all to precise lines and levels
  • Drainage maintenance and installation
  • Application and compaction of granular bituminous materials.

The post holder will also be able to take part in out of hours work on Winter Maintenance and other Highway emergency works.

The post holder would also need to be numerate and literate to complete both electronic and written work sheets.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant experience of highway maintenance and construction work to a high standard
  • A valid driving licence
  • New Roads & Street Works Accredited Operative
  • Training in the use of small plant, such as, but not limited to, abrasive wheel and light plant
  • A valid driving licence with category C, CE, C1 and up-to-date CPC training
  • Supervisory experience
